Bellanico Restaurant and Wine Bar

Bellanico is a continuation of Chris Shepherd and Elizabeth Frumusa's successful restaurant in San Francisco, Aperto in Potrero Hill. Bellanico is a neighborhood restaurant located in the heart of the Glenview district in Oakland. The name Bellanico is derived from their daughters' nicknames, Bella and Nico. It was only fitting to name it after them, for they went through the ups and downs of the entire construction phase with Chris and Elizabeth.

We serve rustic Italian cuisine with influences from all the bounty California has to offer. The menu changes seasonally and we are dedicated to serving the best seasonal, local, sustainable, and organic products available. We cure our own salumi, make all our pasta, and bread fresh daily.

We offer an extensive and unique wine list curated by Elizabeth Frumusa, Wine Director. For her selections, Elizabeth procures primarily Old World wines with an emphasis on Italian wines. There are more than 25 wines by the glass and 6 different flights are offered so that one can tantalize their senses by having 3oz comparative tastings. One can also purchase any wines retail for up to 50% off the list price. Chris, Elizabeth, and staff look forward to serving you in the neighborhood.
